The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis (3000 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46208) is the largest children’s museum in the world, with five floors and more than 120,000 artifacts spanning science, history, space exploration, and sports. The museum opens daily at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. (with seasonal Friday extensions), and group admission rates require advance reservation at least two weeks ahead.
Charter buses drop off on the east side of the building along Meridian Street, then stage in the main surface lot on North Meridian. School groups use the designated group entrance on the north end of the building. Store lunch coolers in the undercarriage bays — the museum has outdoor picnic areas but no onsite cafeteria for large groups.
